Tokyu Land Corporation Joins “WE AT” to Build a New Academia–Industry–Government Innovation Ecosystem
WE AT, a general incorporated association dedicated to advancing the well-being industry through global-scale solutions to social challenges, is pleased to announce that Tokyu Land Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO : TatsuakiTanaka, hereinafter “TLC”) has joined the organization.

Strengthening a Global Startup Ecosystem that Supports Entrepreneurs Working Toward Well-being
Established in May 2024, WE AT aims to build a global innovation ecosystem through collaboration among major Japanese universities—including the University of Tokyo and Kyoto University—leading corporations, and venture capital firms. Guided by the OECD’s “well-being framework,” WE AT supports startups, companies, and research institutions contributing to the accumulation of economic, natural, human, and social capital—the foundation of a well-being economy.
With the addition of TLC, WE AT now brings together a total of 3 universities and 13 companies, including the founding members, to further accelerate the development and expansion of the ecosystem.
Tokyu Land Corporation is committed to advancing environmental initiatives through its business operations as a sustainability-driven developer. Centered around the “Greater Shibuya Area,” a roughly 2.5 km radius surrounding Shibuya Station, the company positions industry development as a core pillar of its urban development strategy and actively supports startups across various stages.
In particular, at “SAKURA DEEPTECH SHIBUYA,” a global hub for industry–government–academia collaboration located within Shibuya Sakura Stage, Tokyu Land is fostering the development of a robust startup ecosystem.
Through its participation in WE AT, Tokyu Land aims to further support and collaborate with startups in the well-being sector, while accelerating the formation of both domestic and international innovation ecosystems.
Accelerating Startup Support and Global Ecosystem Connectivity through WE AT CHALLENGE
To date, WE AT has organized the “WE AT CHALLENGE,” one of Asia’s largest pitch competitions in the well-being domain, attracting nearly 600 applications from 40 countries. Beyond selection and recognition, WE AT provides ongoing support to selected startups through business matching with corporations and investors, as well as hands-on commercialization support. In addition, through participation in global tech events such as GITEX AI ASIA and partnerships with startup ecosystems in Singapore and Europe, WE AT creates direct access to international investors and global enterprises, enabling the global expansion of Japan-origin startups at an execution level. Through these initiatives, WE AT is building a practical and globally connected innovation ecosystem that integrates capital, expertise, and market access across borders.
